2025 Member Tournament Schedule
Metcalfe Golf Club – Third Annual XXVII Tournament – May 18, 2025
Similar to the Saudi backed LIV league (LIV representing Roman Numerals for 54, the number of holes played over their three round tournaments), Metcalfe’s XXVII tournament (XXVII representing the Roman Numerals for 27) will also be a three round tournament, but on the 9 hole course in one day (a total of 27 holes)! The first year, the event theme was Africa, last year was Australia. This year’s event theme will be Canada, building on the patriotic wave in Canada spawned by international events. So come out and support your country! The tournament will be a team event. Individuals or teams may sign up, with team handicaps based on Golf Canada Handicaps. Teams will be assigned Team Names and prizes will be awarded to the teams with the lowest gross score, the lowest handicapped score, and the most honest score. In the event of a tie, retrogression will be used to determine the winners. There shall also be prizes for closest to the pin (par 3s) and longest putt. Competition markers will be up for the entire 3 rounds.
The format will be:
1st 9 holes – Shamble with Mulligans. Pick the best Drive and everyone plays their own ball from there. Each player can take 2 mulligans during the round. Team score = 2 lowest gross scores per hole (divided by 2)/ 2nd 9 holes – Better Ball. Play your own ball. Team score = 2 lowest gross scores per hole (divided by 2) 3rd 9 holes – Scramble / Best Ball. One team score for the 9 holes.
More detailed rules will be posted separately. The tournament will be a maximum of 17 teams, with a shotgun start at 11:00. The member cost for the event is $45.00 which includes prizes and a Canadian themed dinner. To register, or for any questions, please email the event organizer Terry Moir at terrymoir52@gmail.com. Sign-up sheets will be posted in the locker room once the course opens.
