Member’s Open House & 9 Holes – Saturday April 25th
We hope you can join us to kick off the season! We will be offering an optional 9-hole shotgun at 11:00am, followed by an open house where you may learn about the clubs plans for the 50th anniversary season and the great events we have planned for members in 2026. Chef Liam will be serving some appetizers and munchies during the open house. Here is the schedule for the day.

11:00am Shotgun Start (72 places available)
1:30pm – 3:00pm Open House
1:45pm – Chef Liam’s Appetizers
2:15pm – Tournament Prizes and Club Updates

Tournament Entry Fee $27
Open House and Appetizers $20

To register please email Keanu Heins – kheins@metcalfegolf.com. Please indicate if you are planning to enter the tournament, or only the open house. Deadline April 15th (or until the golf tournament sells out).

Metcalfe Golf & Country Club – Fourth Annual XXVII Tournament – May 17, 2026
Similar to the Saudi backed LIV league (LIV representing Roman Numerals for 54, the number of holes played over their three round tournaments), Metcalfe’s XXVII tournament (XXVII representing the Roman Numerals for 27) will also be a three round tournament, but on the 9 hole course in one day (a total of 27 holes)!

The tournament will be a team event. Individuals or teams may sign up, with team handicaps based on Golf Canada Handicaps. Teams will be arranged in 3 flights, with Prizes awarded to the team with the lowest gross score in each flight. Flights will be organized by the lowest handicap in a group, not an average handicap. In the event of a tie, retrogression will be used to determine the winners. There shall also be prizes
for closest to the pin (par 3s) and longest putt. Competition markers will be up for the entire 3 rounds.

The format will be:
1st 9 holes – Shamble with Mulligans. Pick the best Drive and everyone plays their own ball from there. Each player can take 2 mulligans during the round.
Team score = 2 lowest gross scores per hole (divided by 2)
2nd 9 holes – Better Ball. Play your own ball. Team score = 2 lowest gross scores per hole (divided by 2)
3rd 9 holes – Scramble / Best Ball. One team score for the 9 holes.

More detailed rules will be posted separately.

The tournament will be a maximum of 17 teams, with a shotgun start at 11:00. The member cost for the event is $50.00 which includes a fabulous prize table and dinner (Grilled Chicken or Beef Burger, Poutine (or fries – your choice), dessert, tea or coffee). To register, or for any questions, please email the event organizer Terry Moir at terrymoir52@gmail.com . Sign-up sheets will be posted in the locker room once the
course opens.

To withdraw prior to the deadline, members must notify the event organizer by email or remove their name from the sign-up sheet in the locker room.

Withdrawals after the entry deadline, but before the draw has been published
If a member withdraws after the deadline and notifies the organizer prior to the tournament draw being published, a 50% refund of the entry fee will be credited to their account.

Withdrawals after the draw has been published – If a member withdraws after the draw has been published no refund will be provided.
Please do not contact the Golf Shop, Rob, Wyatt, Keanu etc. (unless they are the event organizer) to withdraw from an event. This must be done through the event organizer. Event Organizer names and contact information are published on the
member event page 4 to 6 weeks before the event.

Policy for Member Events Impacted by Weather

The club and event organizer will follow these guidelines should the weather impact a member event.

One Day Events

If a decision is made to cancel golf the day before or 2 hours prior to the event, then the meal will also be cancelled, and members will be refunded the tournament entry fee. Depending on the club schedule the organizer may look at an alternate date. Players will have the option of participating on the rescheduled date.

If a decision is made to proceed with an event and play starts, then the meal component of the event will proceed. If play is cancelled during the round the meal time may be moved up.  Should not enough golf be completed to award prizes, then the prize portion of the entry fee will be refunded.

Two Day Events

In the club championship and Ryder Cup, if a minimum of 1 round is completed on either day, then the meal will proceed as planned (could be on the 1st or 2nd day pending weather) and no refunds will be provided.

Events with Social Components

Events which have social components and/or entertainment such as the member’s opening meeting, closing banquet & league luncheons will proceed if golf is cancelled with no refunds being available.
