2024 MEMBERS’ TOMBSTONE TOURNAMENT
& GRAVEYARD UNDER THE STARS ANNUAL BANQUET
It’s that time of year again. The Members’ Tombstone Tournament is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 5th 2024, with tee times from approximately 9:30am – noon, RAIN OR SHINE-😊
This is a members’ tournament; however, members are welcome to invite one guest. The cost is a $10.00 prize fee for members and a $50.00 green fee/prize fee for guests). Registration for this event is open until Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Please register by signing up in the locker room or sending an email to Dave Dyer skidyer@gmail.com. Please indicate the tee colour your handicap is based on.
Players receive 72 strokes, plus their handicap. Deduct the strokes used for each hole and when you use your last stroke, place your tombstone provided where your ball comes to rest. Prizes will be awarded for golf performance and skills, tombstone design and various draws. To add to the fun and dinner theme you will need to bring a tombstone to be eligible for all draw and door prizes. Complete tournament rules and a list of prizes will be provided with the draw prior to the tournament.
To qualify for handicap related prizes, e.g. first, second last and last to die, a participant must have a valid handicap in Golf Canada. Participants without a handicap are still eligible for prizes for the skill competitions, tombstone design and tombstone draw. Handicaps for the tournament will be based on your handicap as of midnight Sunday, September 29, 2024. Please ensure that your handicap is up to date by entering all your scores in Golf Canada prior to this date.
Following the Tombstone tournament will be our Graveyard under the stars themed annual dinner, awards banquet & entertainment featuring the Indelible Line Duo. Event Coordinator Keanu will be transforming the tent into a Graveyard featuring your tombstones and other décor items. Our entertainers will have some spooky music enhance the fun. Attendees are welcome, but not required to dress to fit the theme.

“Undertakers” Roast Beef & Au Jus
Assorted Desserts including “Rest in Peace” Pies and “Death by Chocolate” cake.
The cost for the banquet is $42 plus HST and gratuity and will go towards October restaurant minimums.

Member Event Policy
Eligibility
All club members regardless of category are eligible to participate in Member events & Intersectional tryouts.
Mini members will be subject to the mini member per round fee in addition to the tournament entry fee.
To be eligible for a member event a current Golf Canada Membership is required.
Withdrawals
Withdrawals prior to entry deadline
To withdraw prior to the deadline, members must notify the event organizer by email or remove their name from the sign-up sheet in the locker room.
Withdrawals after the entry deadline, but before the draw has been published
If a member withdraws after the deadline and notifies the organizer prior to the tournament draw being published, a 50% refund of the entry fee will be credited to their account.
Withdrawals after the draw has been published – If a member withdraws after the draw has been published no refund will be provided.
Please do not contact the Golf Shop, Rob, Wyatt, Keanu etc. (unless they are the event organizer) to withdraw from an event. This must be done through the event organizer. Event Organizer names and contact information are published on the member event page 4 to 6 weeks before the event.
Policy for Member Events Impacted by Weather
The club and event organizer will follow these guidelines should the weather impact a member event.
One Day Events
If a decision is made to cancel golf the day before or 2 hours prior to the event, then the meal will also be cancelled, and members will be refunded the tournament entry fee. Depending on the club schedule the organizer may look at an alternate date. Players will have the option of participating on the rescheduled date.
If a decision is made to proceed with an event and play starts, then the meal component of the event will proceed. If play is cancelled during the round the meal time may be moved up. Should not enough golf be completed to award prizes, then the prize portion of the entry fee will be refunded.
Two Day Events
In the club championship and Ryder Cup, if a minimum of 1 round is completed on either day, then the meal will proceed as planned on the 2nd day and no refunds will be provided.
Events with Social Components
Events which have social components and/or entertainment such as the member’s opening meeting, closing banquet & league luncheons will proceed if golf is cancelled with no refunds being available.
